ARTIFACT: This is a World War II United States Submarine Finback (SS-230) postal cover. The Finback was launched Aug 25, 1941, and all save the third, ninth, and twelfth of her twelve war patrols were designated successful." She received 13 battle stars for World War II service, and is credited with having sunk 69,383 tons of enemy shipping.

VINTAGE: Circa August 25, 1941.

SIZE: About 6-1/2" in width by 3-3/4" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Printed paper with blue ink.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a large collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LACX SAJX6/11(1)

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The cover has only light creasing and very light wear at edges, and shows some age.
