Nice, small WWII USAAF grouping to 314th Troop Carrier Group Air Crew Officer with VERY RARE Type 314th Troop Carrier Group distinctive insignia. Approved in 1942, the shield-shaped brass enameled insignia displays two boots walking the field with ornamental gules with the motto: "VIRI VENIENTE" (Men Will Come) in blue. Also included is a UK-made Airborne Troop Carrier and ETO HQ patch. The European Theater patch features two red lightning bolts in the shape of a 'V' for Victory, with an Army Services blue star above in a white cloud. The grouping is named to Air Crew member A. I. Denson and also includes a sterling Air Crew Wing by A.E. Co., USAAF collar insignia, and leather name tag with reads: "A. I. DENSON". The unit dropped paratroopers on Sicily, Saberno, and D-Day.
