ARTIFACT:
This is a World War II United States Soldier's medal with a ribbon bar in its original case. The medal is octagonal and shows an eagle in relief on one side and the words SOLDIER'S MEDAL FOR VALOR on reverse. The medal hangs from a red, white and blue ribbon and matches the accompanying bar. The case reads SOLDER'S MEDAL on its cover.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II.
SIZE:
Approximately 2-13/16" in height and 1-3/8" in width; case is approximately 6-1/2" in length and 3-1/2" in width and 1-1/8" in depth.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Bronze, silk, wrapped cardboard, velour.
ATTACHMENT:
Bar & medal: horizontal pins with locking swivel catches; medal: suspension ring; case: hinge.

CONDITION:
7 (Very Fine): The medal is in very good condition with a deep, handsome tarnish; case shows some small spots of light wear and some small areas of discoloration inside.
