ARTIFACT: This is a World War II launch tag for the launching of the USS Sea Devil (SS-400) from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard on February 28, 1944. Sea Devil earned five battle stars in the same number of World War II war patrols and was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation at Midway in April 1945.

VINTAGE: Circa 1944.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/16 in height (excluding 3-5/8" of string) and 1-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Foiled card stock with silk string.

ATTACHMENT: Punched hole with string.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The tag has some light wear, and the tag you receive will either be this one or one in very similar condition.
