ARTIFACT: This is a World War II United States Navy ship's clock by Chelsea Clock Company, a Boston, Massachusetts clock maker since 1897. The clock has a Bakelite case, the cover of which opens on a hinge and is secured by a screw (next to brass key). The clock gives the time in both normal and military time, does still function, and has a second hand with a crescent moon at its end. There is an F-S adjuster to quickly fine tune the speed at which the clock is running. The glass has been replaced and is siliconed in place (please see photo of inside of the cover).

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 7-1/2" in diameter (at base).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bakelite, brass, glass.

ATTACHMENT: Hinge, screw clamp, key, holes in base for mounting.

MARKINGS: CHELSEA CLOCK CO. BOSTON on front and reverse; U.S. NAVY SER. NO. 107825E on face; 398 033 scratched onto bottom.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The clock is in very good condition with some small spots of light wear, paint spattering and moderate tarnish; the glass has been replaced glass has been replaced and is silicone in place.
