ARTIFACT: This is a World War II United States Army Civilian Air Transport Command collar insignia that was possibly converted from a screwback style. The ATC was set up in 1942 to coordinate all transportation of necessary aircraft, employees ad materiel within the United States and beyond. The insignia has an Art Deco design and reads ACHIEVED BY DAUNTLESS RESOLUTION AND UNCONQUERABLE FAITH.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: About 1-1/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Copper-plated brass with red and blue enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Diagonal pin with come-under swivel catch, possibly converted from a screwback style.

MARKINGS: (Probably Bastian Bros. mark - cut off) ROCHESTER, NY.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJX10 LFEX SEHX5/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The insignia shows light wear and tarnish.
