ARTIFACT: This is a theater-made shoulder patch for the United States 1st Army. The 1st Army was involved with the Normandy invasion and the Battle of the Bulge, among other contests. The patch shows a capital "A" in block lettering, denoting "A" for "army" as well as linking A as the primary letter to the army's name (1st).

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: 2-11/16" height and 2-3/16" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Olive cotton patch embroidered in black silk/cotton threads with black cotton backing.

MARKINGS: N/A.

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): Patch shows very little wear except fraying where it was cut out.
