ARTIFACT:
This is a great WWII A-2 jacket, in a large size (42) by famous maker BRONCO Manufacturing Corporation. It was originally owned by Air Crew Member Cpl. Paul Seaman of the 67th Troop Carrier Squadron, 433rd Troop Carrier Group, 5th Air Force. This unit saw EXTENSIVE combat operations in the Southwest Pacific, flying combat cargo resupply missions, troop carrier missions, parachute drops and other missions as necessary in New Guinea, Dutch East Indies; Philippine Campaign and the Battle of Okinawa. The 67th dropped Paratroopers into the Philippines during the invasion and retaking of that country. The grouping consists of a simple, but "been there" A-2, with a great Aussie made 67th TCS patch on front, and US made US Army Pacific Command on the right shoulder, and the 5th Air Force on the left shoulder. Corporal Seaman even attached his "ruptured duck" discharge patch to the right breast of his jacket! A simple jacket with no other decoration, it still is a great example of the type of everyday working A-2 of an Air Crew member of a Troop Carrier unit. Being that as it is, the cuffs look to be period replacements, and there is light wear and tear to them and the waistband. Also in the grouping is a great unit history for the 67th TCS, which includes many photos, and a complete unit roster in back. There are also some loose patches, including an Aussie-made 5th AF and a nice Aussie made bullion AAF HQ patch. There is also a large 90th Bomb Group back patch or wall hanging with Seaman's name on it. I am not exactly sure of the connection with this, so I will actually offer to sell this separately, or sell the grouping without it.
