ARTIFACT: This is a World War II submarine launch tag for the USS Remora (SS-487). The Remora was launched on July 12, 1945, at the Portsmouth (NH) Naval Shipyard, and spent most of her 28 year United States Navy career in Pacific waters. In 1973 she became part of Greece's Navy and was renamed Katsonis.

VINTAGE: Circa 1945.

SIZE: About 1-3/4 in width by 2-1/8" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silvered card stock.

ATTACHMENT: Silk string.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: The launch tag you receive will either be the one pictured or one in very similar condition. This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LBHX S(1)BHX1/15 S(2)VBHX11/26/19

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): This tag has light creasing and wear to its edge, and the tag you receive will either be this one or one in very similar condition.
