ARTIFACT:

This is a World War II submarine launch tag for the USS Remora (SS-487). The Remora was launched on July 12, 1945, at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and spent most of her 28 year United States Navy career in Pacific waters. In 1973 she became part of Greece's Navy and was renamed Katsonis.

VINTAGE: Circa 1945.

SIZE: About 1-3/4 in width by 2-1/8" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silvered card stock.

ATTACHMENT: Silk string.

MARKINGS: None.
