ARTIFACT: This is a World War II Polaris Flight Academy Squadron 3 instructor jacket patch. The Polaris Flight Academy at War Eagle Field, Lancaster, California was a flight training facility operated by the Cal-Aero Flight Academy. The Civilian Pilot Training (CPT) school was contracted to train both foreign and US military cadets. In 1944, Polaris was renamed Mira Loma Flight Academy. The twill patch is embroidered with a golden eagle with a soaring against a white star.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 3-13/16" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Twill embroidered in cotton/silk thread, mesh backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a World War II USAAF CTP instructor jacket patch collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEJX14 LCGEX3/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The patch shows only some light wear and has some very faint staining on the reverse only.
