ARTIFACT: This is a distinctive insignia in plastic for the Maine State Guard. The DI shows the State of Maine's seal, which reads DIRIGO (direct), the state motto. Many state-side units had these DIs made of plastic to save essential materials such as brass for the war effort.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II era.

SIZE: 1-1/4" height and 1-1/16" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plastic.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: The DI you receive will either be the one pictured or one in very similar condition. This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJX96 LDJX10/10
