Grace was originally begun by two Irish brothers as a shipping company in the nineteenth century and evolved into a luxury cruise line over time. Pictured above are Johnson and his ship, the USS President Garfield. The badge shows an enameled red and white flag wreathed in gold leaves.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2-15/16" in height and 24-1/4" in length (total).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool embroidered in bullion, plated brass with enamel, mesh backing, elasticized cotton band.

ATTACHMENT: Elastic band with two reinforced button holes; single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an ocean liner collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VDEX11 L/SAAEX5/11

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The cap badge has some light wear and tarnish and the slightest of oxidation on the flag.
