ARTIFACT: This patch is the Disney design for the Civil Air Patrol's Southern Frontier Liaison Patrol. This group cruised the air between Brownsville, Texas and Douglas, Arizona, for about a year beginning in October 1942, helping to secure the border with Mexico. The Patrol's mission necessitated cooperation with ground crews and government entities, both US and Mexican. This bird with his Daniel Boone coonskin cap was featured in the "e;War Insignias"e; comics by Dell put out in the 1940s. The pilot's name tag reads "Lt. A. C. Oosterveer."

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: With the name tag above the patch as in our image, the two are about 4" in width and about 5 ½" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Leather with paint.

ATTACHMENT: To be attached to garment.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a large collection of WW II to Vietnam vintage squadron patches which we will be listing more of over the next few months. PBJJX07 LFGEX SLGIEX12/11
