ARTIFACT: This is a hardcover copy of a World War II unit history for the United States Army 457th AAA AW (Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons) Battalion (Mobile). This book, entitled "Texas to Teisnach", was published late in 1945 by A. Humblot of Nancy, France. The 457th was scheduled to land at Omaha Beach on D-Day, but because of tactical delayed, they instead waited at anchor. The machine guns they used against enemy aircraft later I the day proved to be their first action within European borders. The back of the book has medal lists, rosters and enemy aircraft statistics, among other information. The boo has several photgraphs, a map of the 457th's route, and pen and ink illustrations by members of the Battalion.

VINTAGE: Published late 1945 (late World War II).

SIZE: 223 pages including black and white photographs and illustrations. Approximately 8-1/4" in height and 5-7/8" in width and 3/4" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embossed cloth-bound cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The book has some areas of light wear and some spots of discoloration on the endpapers and staining on a few of the interior pages. No rips or writing inside.
