ARTIFACT: This is a hardcover copy of the World War I The Second Army Air Service Book". This book was originally owned by well-known Philadelphia newspaper personality Edith M. Marble, acquired while in France during WWI doing American Red Cross promotion work. She signed it inside the cover and dated it 1918-19. Mention of her trip made the pages of the July 13, 1918 edition of the journalist publication, "The Fourth Estate". The book has several great photos of aircraft and humorous illustrations, with a history of the 2nd Army Air Service and their European mission.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 11" in height and 7-1/2" in width and 7/8" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embossed cloth-bound cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: "Edith M. Marble Paris 1918-19" written inside; PRINTED IN FRANCE BY BERGER-LEVRAULT 18, RUE DES GLACIS, NANCY on last page.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBEX02 LBBEX8/13 SVBBEX08/30/19

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The book has some separation at the spine; some minor spots of yellowing and age throughout; some staining to rear cover.
