ARTIFACT:
This is a hardcover copy of the World War I The Second Army Air Service Book". This book was originally owned by well-known Philadelphia newspaper personality Edith M. Marble, acquired while in France during WWI doing American Red Cross promotion work. She signed it inside the cover and dated it 1918-19. Mention of her trip made the pages of the July 13, 1918 edition of the journalist publication, "The Fourth Estate". The book has several great photos of aircraft and humorous illustrations, with a history of the 2nd Army Air Service and their European mission.

Approximately 11" in height and 7-1/2" in width and 7/8" in thickness.

Embossed cloth-bound cover, paper.
ATTACHMENT:
Glued binding.
