ARTIFACT: This is World War I United States Army son-in-service pin. The pin shows a blue star within a red-bordered rectangle. There is a patent mark on the reverse of the pin.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 3/8" in height and 9/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with tongue-style catch.

MARKINGS: PAT'D NOV. 1917.

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The pin shows some abrasions and wear to the enamel.
