ARTIFACT: This is a nice World War I cold weather/high altitude aviator's leather flight helmet used both by United States Navy pilots as well as Army Air Force bomber crews flying over the North Sea. The helmet is fur lined and has ear flaps that snap shut.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 10-1/2" in length and 8-1/2" in height (lying flat, measured from the side).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Leather, fur, elasticized cotton, metal snaps, buckle.

ATTACHMENT: Strap, buckles, snaps.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy aviator personal gear collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay TRBJJX14 VEGEX9/13

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine): The helmet has areas of light to medium wear/discoloration; strap is useable but somewhat fragile.
