ARTIFACT: WWI Canadian Expeditionary Forces (CEF) 139th Northumberland Overseas Battalion cap badge. The badge is shaped like a starburst topped with a royal crown and the center features the number "139" and surrounding it reads: "NORTHUMBERLAND OVERSEAS BATTALION" in raised detail and is encircled by a wreath embellishment. A scroll along the top reads: "EXCELSIOR" and one along the bottom: "CANADA".

VINTAGE: Circa WWI

SIZE: Approximately 1-7/8" x 1-1/2"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped bronze

ATTACHMENT: Two loops/lugs, cotter pin

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The cap badge shows minor to moderate wear and verdigris, overall very fine condition.
