ARTIFACT: Wonderful and extremely rare circa 1939 AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) full size pilot wing. The association formed in 1939 in Frederick, Maryland and is still in existence. The gilt wing features gorgeous details to feathering and an enameled shield in the center in white with a diagonal stripe reading "AOPA" in gilt lettering.

VINTAGE: Circa 1939

SIZE: Approximately 3" x 5/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt and enameled brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a civil aviation collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJX16 S/LFGEX4/16

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The pilot wing shows minor wear, nearly all of the enamel and gilt details remain fully intact, overall excellent condition.
