ARTIFACT: This is a wonderful circa early 1950s straw boater hat with a fabulous silk band made by the award-winning Melton of Fifth Avenue. Honey-colored straw with brown, sienna and steel blue silk: the Melton motto, "Art in Hats", is embodied here. The ladies will take notice, and the gentsÉ well, they'll just want your hat! Size 6 7/8. Excellent condition.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1950s.

SIZE: Size 6 7/8.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Straw, silk band, leather liner.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: GOLD MEDAL AWARDED MELTON ART IN HATS FIFTH AVENUE NEW YORK label; 6 7/8 size tag.
