ARTIFACT: This is a wonderful circa 1944 French Forces of the Interior (Forces Françaises de l'Intérieur) officer's beret badge. The Forces, or FFI, was the formal name given to the French Resistance fighters later in the war as parts of France were liberated. Understandably less organized during the total Nazi Occupation, the Resistance fighters now formed infantry units and became part of the French regular forces. The badge shows a large "V" with the Cross of Lorraine in its crook.

VINTAGE: Circa 1944.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated and gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with plunger catch.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII French military badge collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay MEX14 LCGEX8/14

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some light wear.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
