ARTIFACT:
Wonderful, ca. 1943 Naval Air Station Roosevelt Base on Terminal Island, California Christmas Card/Menu with a Disney Design with Goofy as a USN Sailor ready to chow down on a Christmas Goose! The inside of the card features the "GENERAL MESS CHRISTMAS DINNER MENU" artistically displayed around a Christmas Tree. The base of the tree features the names "K. McGINNIS, Commander, U.S.N. Commanding Officer", "D.J. MacCALMAN Lieutenant Commander, U.S.N., (Ret.) EXECUTIVE OFFICER", and "G.E. SCHINDLER, Lieutenant (SC) U.S.N.R. COMMISSARY OFFICER" and the base of the card reads: "NAVAL AIR STATION, ROOSEVELT BASE, TERMINAL ISLAND, CALIF." The card is unsigned and unaddressed.
