ARTIFACT:
This is a wonderful circa 1930s Dartmouth College glass shaker set with matching Deco "You" and "Me" glasses. The Ivy League school's seal is in green enamel on the front of the shaker, and bears the words SIGILL: COL: DARTMUTH: NOV: HANT: IN AMERICA 1770 and the motto "Vox Clamantis in Deserto" (The Voice of One Crying Out in the Wilderness"). In 1957 the date on the seal would be changed to the 1769, the actual date of the school's original charter. The lid on the shaker is in nickel-plated brass and has a small removable cap covering the pourer. The bottom of the shaker is a cut base.
