ARTIFACT: This is a wonderful badge for the 29th Annual New Jersey State Firemen's Association Convention. The meeting was held at Atlantic City, New Jersey on September 13, 1906. The badge is in heavy gilt brass and has it all: a beach scene complete with bathing beauty, a fire scene with a horse-drawn steamer and chief with fire trumpet, and a New Jersey state-shaped planchet! The badge was made by Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark, New Jersey.

VINTAGE: Circa 1906.

SIZE: Approximately 4-5/8" in height and 1-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid, gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin on bar, chain links.

MARKINGS: THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a fire and rescue collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MEX12 LABEX7/13 SLGEX9/16 SeVAJJX08/25/19

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has only some small areas of light wear and tarnish.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
