ARTIFACT:
This is a wonderful and large circa 1890s Old West City Marshal six-point star badge. It has a nice old Minnesota maker mark and one-piece pin worn thin with an early saddle on reverse. The badge has a dark reddish patina in places, and that coupled with the fact that all of the paint from the lettering is gone leads me to believe that the badge may have spent a little time under ground. If only it could talk!

Circa 1890s.
SIZE:
Approximately 3-1/4" in height and 2-7/8" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Plated brass.

Vertical safety pin worn thin, early saddle.

6- (Fine): The badge shows areas of moderate to heavy abrasion, some reddish patina in spots (possibly spent time underground).
