ARTIFACT: This is a wonderful 1860's or even earlier police badge made from a Pre-1962 Seated Liberty Half Dollar that appears to have a low-karat gold inlay which reads "3RD WARD. POLICE. G.W.K." The G.W.K. is the initials of the original wearer. This badge is most likely from either the Baltimore or Philadelphia Area

VINTAGE: Circa 1860's

SIZE: Size 1-1/4" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Coin silver with gold inlay

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with over-under catch

MARKINGS: "3RD WARD POLICE G.W.K. UNITED ST OF AMERICA. HA OL. 0"

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has some wear, expected due to its age, but it looks stunning despite the light tarnish it has.
