ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1930s lapel pin by Greenduck Company for American Youth Hostels (AYH), a group started in 1934 in Northfield, Massachusetts. The group was modeled after the German concept from decades earlier of giving young people a pastoral outlet to escape the sometimes unhealthy and stressful urban centers. The pin is triangular and enameled in blue.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 5/8" in height and 3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: GREENDUCK CO.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin shows some light wear and tarnish.
