ARTIFACT: This is a Vietnam War era United States Silver Star medal. The medal can be awarded to any individual involved with the United States Armed Forces who shows "gallantry in action" against an enemy of the United States. The medal is in wonderful condition and hangs from a red, white and blue ribbon. It has a maker mark and reads FOR GALLANTRY IN ACTION on reverse.

VINTAGE: Circa Vietnam War era.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/4" in height and 1-7/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt and plated brass, enamel, silk.

ATTACHMENT: Suspension ring, ribbon, horizontal pin on bar with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: PIGI on reverse of bar.
