ARTIFACT: This is a very rare 1946 United States Army 11th Airborne Glider Troops qualifying badge made at Sendai, Japan. The 11th Airborne completed the most consequential Pacific Theatre combat glider landing at Aparri, and participated in the raid of Luzon and the liberation of Manila. Their many rescue and aid missions earned them their "Angels" nickname.

VINTAGE: Circa 1946.

SIZE: About 1-5/8" in width by 3/4" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal kick pin with C catch.

MARKINGS: 1946 SENDAI JAPAN.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): Very minor wear and moderate tarnishing; pin and catch are slightly bent.
