ARTIFACT: This is a fabulous and very rare circa late 1930s or early World War II Hellenic (Greek) Air Force (HAF) full dress bullion pilot wing. In 1930 the Greek Army and Navy consolidated their aviation powers under one entity: the HAF. The Force became the Royal Hellenic Air Force (RHAF) between 1935 and 1973, and its small numbers stoically resisted an Italian invasion in 1940. The wing is very rare to be found in a pin-back configuration.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1930s or World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 4-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt embroidered in bullion and silk/cotton threads, paper backing, brass plate.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with C catch on plate/bar.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Greek militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LAEJX16 LIGEX10/16

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The wing has only very light wear.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
