ARTIFACT: Very nice, early 1930's United States Air Corps 6th Bomb Group Distinctive Insignia. This example is made by Bastian Brothers and features an enameled, right-facing head of a swashbuckler with a skull and crossbones tattooed on his chest and a banner beneath him that reads: "PARATI DEFEFENDERE" or "Ready to Defend." and shows the US Air Corps symbol, a white star with a red center, against a blue background.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1930's

SIZE: Approximately 1" x 1-1/2"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled, gilt brass

ATTACHMENT: Single post with screwback and stabilizer pin

MARKINGS: "BASTIAN BROS. CO. ROCHESTER, N.Y. MPBPIU"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Air Corps collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MDJK03 LBBEX2/16

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The DI shows minor to moderate wear, much of the enamel details remain intact, overall excellent condition.
