ARTIFACT: This is a very late celluloid pin for the Grand Army of the Republic, a fraternal organization for the Union veterans of the Civil War. The pin is robin's-egg blue and reads GOLDEN GATE INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION G.A.R. DAY MAY 5, '39 SAN FRANCISCO.

VINTAGE: Circa 1939.

SIZE: 1-1/4" diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid-wrapped tin with paper backing.

ATTACHMENT: Brass straight pin.

MARKINGS: IRVINE & JACHENS MFR'S BADGES, SEALS, STAMPS, CHECKS ETC. 1027 MARKET ST., S.F.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Civil War veterans collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VEX00 LFJX 7/10

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): Pin shows some very light abrasions and small spots of discoloration.
