ARTIFACT: This is a rare beer can DI made in the Republic of Vietnam for the United States Air Force 4503rd Tactical Fighter Squadron (Provisional). The 4503rd were known as the "Skoshi Tigers", and was active only between October 1965 and March 1966 at Bien Hoa and Danang. The squadron was the first to prove the combat worthiness of the F-5, and was absorbed by the 10th Fighter Squadron (Commando) in April 1966. The DI is painted green and shaped like a guitar pick. At the center is a yellow tiger's head with the words CON COP NHO beneath.

VINTAGE: Circa mid-1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 1-5/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Acid etched brass, nickel plated with painted details.

ATTACHMENT: Two posts with brass clutch-backs.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The DI shows little wear.
