ARTIFACT: This is a United States Model 1892 Krag bayonet and scabbard dated 1903 - an early "Banana Wars" example. It is marked 1903 and US on opposite sides of the ricasso. The bayonet comes with a scabbard that has a swiveling belt loop. The blade is in excellent condition, having just had the cosmolene removed. The handle and scabbard are untouched, and would clean up nicely.

VINTAGE: Circa 1903.

SIZE: Overall: approximately 17-1/4" in length and 3-1/2" in width; bayonet only: 16-1/4" blade only: 11-5/8" by 1" (at widest point); scabbard only: 12-5/8".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Steel, painted steel, wood.

ATTACHMENT: Swiveling belt loop on scabbard.

MARKINGS: 1903; US.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJJX12 LBDEX4/12 SAEJX8/12

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The blade is in excellent condition, having just had the cosmolene removed. The handle and scabbard are untouched, and would clean up nicely.
