ARTIFACT: This is a distinctive insignia for the United States Army 87th Infantry Regiment by Denmark. The DI shows a snow-capped mountain with a crossed ski pole and ice axe and a horseshoe in the foreground. The DI reads VIRES MONTESQUE VINCIMUS (we conquer mountains and men).

VINTAGE: Circa 1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 1-3/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Two posts.

MARKINGS: DENMARK N.Y. 6D.

ITEM NOTES: The DI you receive will either be this one or one in very similar condition.
This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAL90 LAJX10/11

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The DI shows some light wear and tarnish to the enamel.
