ARTIFACT:
This is a small grouping, circa 1913, of Badges & a period Photograph of San Antonio City Police Police Patrol Driver #1, Edwin L. Andersen. Andersen is pictured behind the wheel of San Antonio's first motorized Police Patrol vehicle (AKA Paddy Wagon) in the photograph, which has a much later plate attributing it to 1917, but as Andersen's own hand dates the badge to 1913, the photograph could be earlier.
The large, beautiful breast badge was at some time mounted on a plaque, perhaps by Andersen after his retirement, so the original safety type one-piece pin has been removed, and 2 small holes have been punched into the badge. The holes do not detract too much, and could be repaired by a competent jeweler. The hat badge also has a small hole punched into it at center
