ARTIFACT:
What we have here is a stunning, early WWI, circa 1915 - 1916, Royal Flying Corps embroidered Pilot wing, by far the most exquisite that I have ever seen. There are many beautiful RFC wings out there, in many different patterns, but this one was lovingly hand embroidered with subtle color changes going from dark tan to pink, tan, to ivory, mimicking perhaps a Falcon's wings in flight. I have never seen another wing with this subtle tonal quality. And THIRTEEN feathers per wing! It was a weak moment when I originally let it out of my own collection back in 2016. Now it is back, on consignment, to grace yet another enthusiast's collection. Sadly, it is not biographical. But, then, if it was, I may not be able to let it go a second time...
