ARTIFACT: This is a gorgeous circa 1880s custom-made Newburyport, Massachusetts Assistant Marshal radiator badge. It is in fire-gilt cast brass with complete hand finishing and a massive T pin. A large badge, 3-3/16" by 2-9/16", with an even larger presence. The mate is on display at Newburyport Police Department (please see last photo - not for sale). Pictures do not do this badge justice, as the fire-gilding is stunning. A classic port village in Essex County in northern Massachusetts, Newburyport is one of the oldest settlements in the Commonwealth, established in 1635.

VINTAGE: Circa 1880s.

SIZE: Approximately 3-3/16" in height and 2-9/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fire-gilt cast brass.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical T-style pin, forked locking catch (pin and catch both sit on plates).

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an old Massachusetts police and law enforcement badge collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. MGJJX14 LACIEX7/14 SABJJX1/15

CONDITION: 9 (Excellent+): The badge is in excellent shape.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
