ARTIFACT: This is a sterling silver World War II United States Navy WAVES lapel badge. The WAVES, or the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service, were the first women to serve in the army as a division of the US Navy. The pin's design is an anchor in front of a propeller.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: 1-3/16" height and 1-1/16" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with come-under catch.

MARKINGS: STERLING.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX04 LEFX SEFX4/12

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): Pin shows small spots of wear and light tarnishing.
