ARTIFACT: This is a sterling silver distinctive insignia for the United States Army 18th Coast Artillery Regiment Harbor Defense. This insignia shows a missile sailing over an octopus and reads TAM MARTE QUAM MINERVA (As Much by Courage as by Skill). Red enamel background has an interesting checkerboard pattern running through it.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: About 1-1/4" in height x 1-3/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver with red, yellow and black enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with come-under locking catch.

MARKINGS: STERLING.

ITEM NOTES: The DI you receive will either be this one or one very similar. This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBEL05 LADEX5/10 SADEX09/22

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): Insignia shows very light wear.
