ARTIFACT: This is a circa early to mid-1930s sterling silver lapel pin for the Quiet Birdmen, a secret society for male aviators. The club was founded in 1921 in New York City by a handful of World War I veteran pilots. The pin is enameled in blue and reads QB at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa early to mid-1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 1/4" in height and 15/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: S TERLING, WH (Whitehead & Hoag) maker mark.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a 1930s civil aviation collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VCEX14 LHEX3/14 SHEX7/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin has only some light wear.
