ARTIFACT: This is a circa Spanish-American War era United States Navy cap tally for the USRS Richmond. 

Launched in 1860, the Richmond saw service during the Civil War and later spent many years in the Asiatic Fleet. 
After the Spanish American War, she was sent to Philadelphia to function as a receiving ship. 
She was struck from the United States Naval Register in 1919.

VINTAGE: Circa Spanish-American War (1898).

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 37-1/2" in length.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silk ribbon with tinsel thread embroidery.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The tally shows some light wear and creasing only.
