ARTIFACT: This is a beautiful commemorative plate for the US Battleship Maine or USS Maine which was sunk in Havana Harbor on 15 February 1898.

VINTAGE: Circa Spanish-American War (1898-1902).

SIZE: About 7-5/16 in diameter; base of plate is 4-3/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted glass.

ATTACHMENT: N/A.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): Very minor wear, mostly to the painted illustration, possibly from washing. Or possibly the paint was not perfect when the plate was manufactured.
