ARTIFACT: This is a date-stamped 1907-1908 McDowall (MacDowall, McDonald) clan badge from Edinburgh, Scotland. The clan motto PRO REGE IN TYRANNOS (For the King against tyrants) encircles a lion wearing a crown and brandishing a sword. It is a larger, slightly convex peice, very striking in-hand.

VINTAGE: Circa 1907-1908.

SIZE: Approximately 1-7/8" in height and 1-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal T-style pin with C catch.

MARKINGS: T.E., B, thistle and date stamps.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Scottish clan badge collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MGEX10 LBGEX4/11 SLDGEX10/18

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has some small areas of light to medium wear and tarnish.
