ARTIFACT:

This is a very nice WWII period RCAF Royal Canadian Air Force Group Captain Visor Hat manufactured by the Muir Cap Company firm of Toronto. The cap has a very high level of construction, with a full red satin lining, and a multi-piece adjustable leather sweat band.

Sadly, we do not know who this cap belonged to, but it does show (light) use and wear from the period.

VINTAGE: World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 21-1/4" inside of the hat. US 6-3/4, EU 54cm

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Various types of woven wool, satin, leather, cardboard, velvet, bullion, brass and a plasticized top lining.

ATTACHMENT: N/A.

MARKINGS:

THE
MUIR
BRAND.

MUIR CAP CO. LIMITED TORONTO etc.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a British collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-LGD-35-23 LFGEX02/05/23 SRET02/24

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The cap shows little to minor wear, and gold-plated brass wing, velvet embroidered in bullion are gorgeous and it remains intact. Damage: It shows on image #13.
