This is a scarce Italian-made shoulder patch in bullion and silk for the Mediterranean Allied Air Force. The MAAF became the foremost Allied air force in the Mediterranean region when the Mediterranean Air Command disbanded in December 1943.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II.

1-1/2" height and 3-3/16" width .

Silk embroidered with silk/cotton and bullion threads, muslin backing.

CONDITION:
7- (Very Fine-): Patch has a couple of very small gaps where the bullion border has separated and the silk is somewhat wrinkled.
