ARTIFACT: This is a scarce World War II Croatian Air Force pilot badge Type II with a seldom-seen pin tensioner: a great sign of authenticity! The badge shows a wreathed eagle clutching the checkered Croatian coat of arms with a "U" for Ustaša (Croatian Revolutionary Movement), together forming the coat of arms for the Independent State of Croatia (1941-1945). Although the badge has no maker mark, it was made by the only manufacturer of this particular badge: Zagreb's Braca Knaus. The letters across the top (NDH) stand for Nezavisna Drzava Hrvatska (or Independent State of Croatia).

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2" in height and 2-5/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silvered tombak, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical T-style pin with C catch, pin tensioner.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII foreign military pilot badge collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MDJJX14 LABGEX7/14 SABJJX03/11/22

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has light wear only.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
