ARTIFACT: This is a scarce World War I United States Army 97th Infantry Division shoulder patch. The 97th, also known as Trident, was active only for two and a half months in the year 1918, and then reactivated again during World War II. The patch shows a white trident against a blue crest.

VINTAGE: Circa 1918.

SIZE: Approximately 2-7/16" in height and 2-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Multi-piece wool felt embroidered in cotton/silk threads.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The patch shows some light to medium wear and slight fading.
