ARTIFACT: Scarce WWI Unit History: The First Battalion. The story of the United States Army, 406th Telegraph BN Signal Corps. The unit history was printed in 1921 and a written presentation in the back of the book reads: "PRESENTED TO GEORGE W. GULF BY GEORGE WAINWRIGHT OCT. 28th 1921". The cover shows two soldiers operating telegraph equipment in the field behind a row of barbed wire. Above them a US aircraft soars over communication lines. The cover reads: "THE FIRST BATTALION", "THE STORY OF THE 406th TELEGRAPH BATTALION", "S. C. U. S. A.".

SIZE: Approximately 10-7/8" x 7-1/2"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sewn binding, paperboard, ink

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Army Unit History collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBEM16 LAGEX5/16

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The unit history shows minor to moderate wear and discoloration, a small spot of color loss on the front, the binding remains intact, overall excellent condition.
